Business Bank Operations Leader

The Business Bank Operations Leader will lead the performance of a critical service delivery team and oversee the execution of processes in the pre-settlement lending value chain for our Commercial, Agri, Property and Small Business portfolios. The Operations Leader plays an integral role in ensuring agree prioritisation and escalations are actioned and delivered.

A key aspect of the role is building capability within the team to build a high performing, customer-oriented team in which customer expectations are effectively & efficiently met, whilst ensuring safe banking outcomes for the customers and the bank (i.e., procedures are current and lending policies and regulatory requirements are implemented and managed).

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead and motivate the Operations Team to achieve Business Banking goals whilst maintaining high employee engagement
• Always ensure compliance with operating policies and procedures including compliance to mandatory on-line learning
• Ensure appropriate training plans are developed and training targets are scheduled and achieved
• Act as a mentor, and pro-actively assist and coach team members in achieving individual and Business Bank Operations goals
• Maintain operations excellence disciplines including capacity planning and forecasting
• Investigate incidents, comply with incident management protocols, and ensure all remedial actions are completed.

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a financial institution, preferably with Business Bank lending operations experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Ability to create and manage highly motivated and focussed teams
• Ability to understand the Bank’s credit policy and credit process
• An understanding of the legal framework that applies to Collateral management, Titles, and Contracts is desirable
• Skilled in embedding an operating rhythm, operations metrics and leading an operations team.
